Los AngelesNo. 2 seed and defending champion Sam Querrey, No. 3 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus and No. 6 Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia highlight Wednesday’s second round action on Straus Stadium.

In the first match on, 34-year-old Rainer Schuettler, the oldest player in the singles draw, takes on American Robby Ginepri for the first time since October 2003. They have split both previous meetings in 2003. Ginepri is looking to reach his first ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season and Schuettler his second.

In the second match, Tipsarevic brings a 1-0 advantage against Indian qualifier Somdev Devvarman. In their previous meeting in Chennai in the first week of the season, Tipsarevic won 6-2, 6-1, en route to the semi-finals. Tipsarevic is looking to reach his fourth ATP World Tour quarter-final or better and Devvarman his second this year. If the Indian wins, he will break into the Top 100 for the first time in his career from his personal-best ranking of No. 103.

In the third match, American wild card Ryan Sweeting eyes his first career ATP World Tour quarter-final as he faces Baghdatis, who is trying to advance to his fifth ATP World Tour quarter-final or better this year.

In the evening session, top seeds and five-time Los Angeles champions Bob and Mike Bryan have a tough opening clash with veterans Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles. The Bryans are tied with recent Hall-of-Fame inductees Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde with 61 career doubles titles together.

In the final match, Querrey and top South African Kevin Anderson meet for the third time in ATP World Tour play (Querrey leads 2-0). Querrey is the only player this season to win three ATP World Tour titles on as many surfaces. He enters with a 29-15 match record (9-6 on hard courts).
