Dogs in a greyhound race in Australia were left with an unenviable choice recently: chase the mechanical lure or get after the real hare. The first race at Shepparton greyhounds was scrapped when one of the runners chased a hare which found its way on to the track. Outsider Ginny Lou, which was in third place, set off after the hare and after reviewing the official race film stewards declared the event a “no race”. The $32,000 wagered on the race went back to the punters:
