Football players are only human and humans make mistakes, a fact that was highlighted by South Korean player Yeonga Jeong during the recent U-20 Women’s World Cup Semi Final against Germany.

German striker Alexandra Popp had just hammered in a shot that crashed back off the crossbar and high into the air. The ball flew out to defender Jeong, but instead of clearing it she chose to catch it even though she was standing inside the area. The penalty that followed added one more goal for the hosts and Germany ended up winning 5:1:
