Since 1905, 59 different players have won the men’s title and this year marks the 100th time the men’s singles championship will be contested. The four big guns in the Men’s draw Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are all still in the competition and in with a shout of winning the final major of the year. World No.1 Djokovic has been in superb form and it would be very brave man to bet against him. Rafael Nadal suffered severe cramp after his last game but the Spaniard will still be a big favourite to progress further into the tournament.
In the Women’s draw the top seeds have all been knocked out! World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki will have to wait a bit longer till she wins her first major. The big favourite for the title has to be Serena Williams who when she’s at her best is unplayable with he powerful serves and her never give up attitude. Will the former World No.1 be able to win her 4th US Open title?
